Personal Blogging, Documentary and History
Personal Blogging, Documentary and History: When talking about personal blogging, documentaries are the default genre. There are many blogs that serve other functions, but many blogs are mainly cataloged from the author's life experience. Although there are several blogs that focus on collecting poetry and other forms of creative writing, most of the personal blogs are in some cases documentaries.

Over the years, the act of making a documentary was intended to be an objective act of reporting the sights and sounds encountered by filmmakers, writers, or photographers. However, in contemporary times there has been a movement towards embracing the subjectivity inherent in documentary form. This means that modern documentaries often reflect the distinctive sound and sensitivity of their creators, and the fact that documentaries today often revolve around personalities obscure the boundaries between documentaries and memoirs. Blogs are among these two genres, confounding further differences. Personal blogging, documentary films, and memoirs are now interrelated, good or bad.
Although some bloggers consider themselves to be documentary filmmakers in the formal sense, every time someone sits at a computer and types in their day's notes, they document their own historical moments. The things we take for granted about our daily lives, such as the way we use certain modes of transportation, or the types of products we buy, often seem quite attractive to people who live in different circumstances than us, and this is the type of attraction that is at the heart of many documentary projects.
When people think of blogging, documentaries cannot be the first adjectives that comes to mind, but a few decades later, it is very possible that today the blog will be seen primarily as a very subjective documentary in our time. Future people will almost certainly look to today's blog for insight into our historical moments.
When talking about blogging, documentary films may not be the goal of most people who spend time posting their thoughts and ideas on the internet. In some ways, the documentary aspect of blogging is more of a side effect than the main goal. However, the fact that so many people are interested in publishing public online diaries shows that personal blogs are more than just contemplation.
The fact that bloggers are so stimulated and interested in sharing their ideas with each other reinforces the idea that personal blogs, in some cases, documentaries are intended for public consumption. Documentaries appeal to people who are curious about other ways of life, and many people who regularly read other people's personal blogs are looking for the same kind of new perspective.
